About me…

Well I come from the Land of Fire and Ice, born and bred. Then a dashing prince (my hubby) wisked me away to the Land of Opertunities. Where we have made home for ourselves, started with a family. We started small, with fish, then dogs and finaly a baby. We were in California for about 8 years and now we are currently in Flordia on the Space Coast.

Moving from Iceland, has opened my  eyes to how deprived Icelandic people are of all the wonderful things that you can taste, smell and cook!! My cousin once told me when he first moved to the States,  he went to the grocery store and look for Asparagus.. where did he go.. the can aisle!! I mean thats how I grew up eating Asparagus!! makes sense to me but to others it was the funnies thing ever!!!

Fresh produce and specialty meat cuts are limited and rare in Iceland. When I was growing up there were three, maybe four kinds of Apples (green, yellow, red and cooking apples) and one kind of orange! Thankfully now a days it has a wider selection but you pay through the nose for it!!!

California was amazing for my pallate!! I got to know so many different foods, fruits and vegetables that I never had or seen!! I LOVED IT!!

What I had hoped to accomplish with this blog, well its really for me and any other food lover to enjoy. I hope to post recipes that I try out. Those recipes might be mine or others, but don’t worry I will mentioned where they came from
